Bikeep is proud to announce our first deployment in Greece, marking an important milestone as we continue expanding smart micromobility infrastructure across Europe and beyond.
The Municipality of Rethymno 🏛️ has successfully completed the installation and initial launch of 15 smart parking and charging stations ⚡🚲 for bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters across three key locations in the city.
Project highlights:
-
📍 15 Bikeep stations installed across 3 locations
-
🚲 Supports bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters
-
🤝 Implemented with GAD Mobility
-
🇪🇺 Part of SMARTMOBAIR – Interreg IPA ADRION, co-funded by the EU
Rethymno is one of seven European cities 🌍 participating in the SMARTMOBAIR program, which helps municipalities develop smarter, safer and more sustainable urban mobility solutions. By adding secure parking and charging to public spaces, the city is actively:
-
🚦 Reducing congestion
-
🚴 Supporting active transport
-
🌱 Improving the micromobility experience for residents and visitors
With installation and system configuration now complete, the project has entered its pilot phase 🧪. Once testing is finalized, the stations will open for free public use 🎉 – providing accessible and secure micromobility infrastructure citywide.
👏 A big thank you to the City of Rethymno, Dimitris Skiannis and all partners involved. We’re excited to see more municipalities take steps toward future-ready, secure micromobility infrastructure across Europe and beyond. 🌍🚲
