🌍 Bikeep at Smart City Expo 2025 – Barcelona Recap 🚲✨

Earlier this month, Bikeep participated in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, held on 4–6 November in Barcelona. The event brought together global city leaders, innovators, and technology providers to explore how we can build more sustainable and connected cities.

We were proud to showcase how Bikeep’s smart, secure micromobility infrastructure supports cities in improving mobility, reducing emissions, and making cycling a more convenient everyday choice. 🌱⚡

This year, we were represented by a six-man team, including Aleksei Jeršovski , Henri Oru , Kristjan Lind , and Meelis Haidak , as well as our partners Robin Normandie and Stian Berg Sundhagen from Baia Mobility . Together, we had the opportunity to meet with city officials, partners, and industry experts to discuss practical ways to integrate secure bike parking and e-charging into urban environments.

Thank you to everyone who visited us and shared their insights. We’re excited to keep working toward greener, safer, and more cyclist-friendly cities around the world. 🇪🇸💚

🚲 Internal Bike Sharing Made Simple: The A-A Bikeep Rental Station

Many organizations want to offer bikes for employees — but they often struggle with:

  • 🔑 Manual key handouts that take time and create confusion
  • 🚲 Missing or unreturned bikes
  • 🤷 Unclear responsibility for who has which bike
  • 🔐 No simple way to manage access or track usage

That is why we made the A-A Bikeep Rental Station because it solves all of this by transforming our secure smart parking docks into an easy, controlled internal bike-sharing system. It gives teams a reliable way to check out and return company bikes at the same station, without needing a complex public bike-share setup.

Designed for closed environments where users are known and accountable, the system uses the same trusted Bikeep hardware employees already rely on.

Key features include:

  • 🆔 APP/RFID card access for authorized employees
  • 📱 QR-based unlock through the Bikeep app
  • 🖥️ Remote access management via the Bikeep Console
  • 🔒 Secure locking arm that keeps bikes protected
  • 📘 Logged unlock events for simple operational oversight

Organizations choose this model to:

  • Eliminate manual bike distribution and key handling
  • Launch internal bike sharing quickly with existing Bikeep infrastructure
  • Provide a healthy, sustainable employee perk
  • Scale easily from one building to an entire campus using modular stations

Optimized for A-to-A usage, the solution is ideal for workplaces, campuses, hospitals, logistics hubs, and corporate parks—anywhere the same trusted user group returns the bike to the same station. It is not built for public fleets or cases requiring trip tracking, making it perfectly aligned with internal accountability models.

To make the concept even clearer, we have recorded a short explainer video with Kristjan walking through how the system works, why we built it, and how organizations can benefit from it.
