Smart bike parking and e-bike charging at Citycon centres

Bauer Media Outdoor and Citycon have put Bikeep bike parking and e-bike charging at five Citycon shopping centres in Finland. Advertising pays for the stations, so they cost nothing to the municipality, nothing to Citycon and nothing to the people who park in them.
Five centres, six stations
- Iso Omena, Espoo. Two stations, one for parking and one with charging.
- Lippulaiva, Espoo. A parking station.
- Myyrmanni, Vantaa. A charging station.
- Trio, Lahti. A charging station.
- Koskikeskus, Tampere. A charging station.
In total that is four e-bike charging stations with 20 docks and two smart bike parking stations with 10 docks.
A triple win
Bauer Media Outdoor funds the stations through advertising. The municipality gets better cycling infrastructure without spending on it. Citycon gets secure parking at its entrances without buying hardware. Riders park and charge for free. Everyone at the table gains, and nobody has to find a budget line.
How it works
Visitors unlock a dock with the Bikeep app or a contactless card, and a locking bar holds the frame. E-bike riders plug their charger into the dock's locked compartment and shop while the battery fills. Every dock has an alarm.
Usage keeps growing
Since the stations opened in spring 2025, riders have logged more than 6,000 parkings.
- Myyrmanni is the busiest. The Vantaa station alone has more than 3,600 parkings, with regulars who park there most working days.
- Year two beat year one by far. In July 2026 the six stations logged about nine times as many parkings as in July 2025.
- Riders use more than one centre. About one in ten app users has parked at two or more of the stations, most often between Iso Omena and Lippulaiva.
