E-bike charging, lockers and rentals on one app in north Denver
Smart Commute's three Smart eHubs in north Denver, delivered by Dero, offer free e-bike charging, secure lockers and e-bike rentals on the Bikeep app.

APCOA has opened its first UK Urban Mobility Hub at St Catherine's Walk car park in Carmarthen, Wales, with a 5-dock Bikeep e-bike charging station inside. Riders get secure bike parking and a place to charge, in the same car park as EV chargers, parcel lockers and live bus and train times.

Urban Mobility Hubs put everyday services in one central, easy-to-reach place. St Catherine's Walk is run on APCOA's Parkway platform, with number-plate recognition and several ways to pay. Around it, APCOA and its partners added these services.
The Mayor of Carmarthen opened the hub. The Deputy Mayor, Transport for Wales, GWR and APCOA's hub partners attended the launch.

The station stands on the covered car park level, next to the EV chargers and near the seating area. Each dock locks the bike frame, and e-bike riders can charge with their own charger while they are away.
"APCOA are delighted to be partnering with Bikeep to offer practical and secure bike charging and storage facilities for Urban Mobility Hub customers who want to use a more sustainable mode of transport." Kim Challis, Regional Managing Director UK&I and Group ESG Director, APCOA
"We're excited to partner with APCOA to bring our smart bike parking infrastructure to Urban Mobility Hubs." Kristjan Lind, CEO, Bikeep

The hub won the Smart Parking category at the 2023 CiTTi Awards. A year after the launch, APCOA shared the results of its first months, from February to December 2023. Drivers made more than 6,000 EV charging sessions, using almost 250,000 kWh, and new LED lighting cut the car park's lighting energy by 55%. APCOA said the delivery lockers had saved more than 1,000 separate delivery drop-offs. CiTTi Magazine reported the results in February 2024.

An e-bike costs about 30 cents per 100 km to run in New Zealand, against about $20 for a petrol car. Secure parking decides whether riders switch.
