SmartShelter is a modular battery charging locker built for places where e-bike batteries are charged every day. Couriers, employees, and residents charge batteries in individual fire-suppressing compartments while operators manage everything remotely. Developed by PowerShelter and integrated with the Bikeep platform, so your users open it with the same Bikeep app they already use for parking.
What It Does
SmartShelter is a battery charging locker that makes e-bike battery charging safe by design. Each compartment is an isolated charging cell with integrated fire suppression, heat and gas sensors, cooling fans, and EV-grade mica lining. If a battery overheats, power cuts automatically and the fire suppression system prevents the event from spreading to adjacent compartments.
Users open a compartment with the Bikeep app, an RFID card, a QR code, or a one-time passcode on the 10-inch touchscreen. Drop the battery in, plug it into the socket, and the compartment locks while it charges. When the battery is ready, the same credential opens the compartment for pickup.
The base unit holds 7 batteries, and capacity grows by 8 compartments per SmartModule on the same power feed. Operators manage compartments, users, and access remotely, making SmartShelter a practical fit for delivery hubs, apartment buildings, offices, and campuses.

Fire-Suppressing Compartments
Every compartment has integrated fire suppression and EV-grade mica lining, engineered to stop a thermal event from spreading to neighbouring compartments.
Heat & Gas Detection
Temperature sensors and H2, CO2, and CO gas sensors watch every compartment. Power cuts automatically the moment something looks wrong.
Modular Capacity
Start with 7 compartments and add 8 more per SmartModule. The whole row runs on a single power connection.
Touchscreen Access
A 10-inch IP54 touchscreen handles passcodes, QR codes, and guidance on the spot. RFID readers cover card-based users.
Cameras & Alarms
A front-facing camera and optional overhead fisheye record activity. The built-in alarm reacts to open doors and thermal events.
Bikeep App & Console
Users unlock compartments with the same Bikeep app they use for parking. Operators manage users and compartments from console.bikeep.com.
