Reagan National Airport

Reagan National Airport wanted to support a growing number of employees commuting by bike, e-bike, and e-scooter, but micromobility created several problems it had to solve at once. Light electric vehicles could not be charged indoors, for fire-safety reasons. Equipment had to survive heavy daily use, installation windows were restricted, and the operations, security, facilities, and sustainability teams each needed something different. Traditional racks offered no charging, no oversight, and no accountability.

Bikeep deployed a connected micromobility network across both terminals, the metro plaza, and the parking garages, sized to match how employees move through the site. It pairs 30 bike docks and 20 scooter docks across eight stations with integrated e-charging, plus 15 Dero smart lockers connected to Bikeep's platform by IoT integration for long-term storage. Access is free and self-service, first-come first-served, with no app required for basic parking, while the platform supports app and card access where an operator wants more control. Charging happens outdoors, keeping batteries out of the terminals, and an airport-grade preventive maintenance program with scheduled inspections and calibration holds uptime. Operators manage every station remotely from the Bikeep console.
