New Bikeep Locations – Delivered Free of Charge for the Shopping Malls.

Bikeep and Bauer Media Outdoor are turning ad revenue into micromobility infrastructure. The duo will install Bikeep e-bike and e-scooter charging & parking hubs—free of charge to urban developers—at Citycon shopping centres across Finland.

Bikeep supplies app-unlocked docks with frame-gripping steel arms, 230 V power, and anti-theft alarms; Bauer adds digital OOH screens whose advertising fully funds the hardware and upkeep. First sites go live this summer at Iso Omena (Espoo), IsoKristiina (Lappeenranta,) and Trio (Lahti), with more Nordic malls on the drawing board.

The zero-capex model lets landlords boost footfall and green credentials while riders enjoy secure, gratis charging. When media meets mobility, everyone wins—retailers, cities and the climate. Read more HERE

Southend-on-Sea Expands its Smart Bike-Parking Network

Spring roll-out earlier this year we equipped nine municipal bike rooms across Southend-on-Sea with Bikeep’s access-management platform. Riders simply scan the QR code at the door and pick a daily, weekly or monthly pass—no keys, cards or paperwork required.

July upgrade at Victoria Plaza. After three months of positive user feedback, the city decided to convert the remaining four bike shelter doors at the central Victoria Plaza hub to Bikeep hardware. The retrofit was completed in July, bringing the same intuitive user experience and remote-management tools to this high-traffic location.

What this means for riders and the municipality

  • Ten fully-connected bike rooms now serve commuters, shoppers and visitors.
  • Continuous 4G connectivity and over-the-air updates keep the system secure and future-proof.
  • Flexible, self-service subscriptions lower the barrier to choosing a bike over a car.

🔨 Bikeep Product Updates 🔨

New Product in Testing – 2.0 Smart Bike Parking Station

We’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into our latest innovation: the Bikeep 2.0 Smart Bike Parking Station. This new station type is currently undergoing stress-testing and we’re incredibly excited about what it means for the future.

Our Off-Grid 2.0 station is designed for ultimate versatility, utilizing ground plates for stable installation and operating entirely independently of the power grid.

This opens up a world of possibilities for:

  • deployment in parks,
  • remote commuter hubs,
  • temporary event spaces
  • or any location where traditional wired solutions aren’t feasible.

The station already has an uptime of over one year on a single charge! We’re not stopping there. We are working hard on system power optimization, with an ambitious goal to extend that uptime to over two years in the near future.

This means less maintenance, more reliability, and truly secure bike parking that can adapt to the evolving needs of any urban or rural landscape.

New Product Feature Testing

At Bikeep, the seamless experience and peace of mind of our end-users are paramount. We understand that safe bike parking and reliable access to their bikes is crucial.

That’s why we’ve started testing triple-redundancy add-on feature for our Core IoT.

What happens if there’s a localized internet outage? What if cellular connectivity drops in a specific area? With traditional smart systems, such scenarios could leave users unable to retrieve their bikes. We believe that’s unacceptable.

Our solution? A robust num-pad add-on feature that guarantees access even when primary connections are unavailable.

Here’s how it works: Should the station lose internet or other network connectivity, the end-user can simply generate a fully encrypted, one-time code directly within the Bikeep app on their smartphone. This code can then be physically entered onto the num-pad on the station, instantly unlocking their bike.

The solution is in development and will be added to the Bikeep Product Portfolio by the end of 2025 for the G3 Core IoT.
